I follow a double diamond framework in my design process

Identify the problem areas and  Identify what user really needs

We interview users  and gathering data to understanding their key paintpoints , needs and goals. we then compile and synthesis the data and create " i " statement . I statement is the voice of ours users.  It state what they really needs and their goals. From the user Interview data , we create persona , persona help designers and the engineer team to put user at the center of product development process.   

After we clear identify and redefine the problem statement

Create prototype and Conduct usability testing

we then brainstorming , story boarding and create low fidelity wireframes to test with our users. After gathering feedback from our users we iterate with the data we received.  It is a iterative process and it is very much a conversation between the user and builder team, the feedback loop is essential to create a product that users will love :)
